As a physical extension to the digital exhibition curated by Dr Beatrix Hoffmann-Ihde, a pop-up exhibition dedicated to the topic of historical indigo production can be viewed at the University and State Library (ULB) Bonn until December 18, 2024. BCDH contributed by developing augmented reality stations that explain the historic production steps of indigo dyeing. Till Sonnemann, Philippe Pathé and Pascal Woiton have created three-dimensional models based on 17th century copperplate engravings, of which parts were made tangible using 3D printing. The augmented reality uses animations to show the work on a colonial plantation and in a blue dye shop.

Furthermore, a short film documentary was created with the archaeologist Dr Joseph Sony Jean (Universiteit Leiden) in which he discusses the cultural heritage of Haiti's indigo production and which can be viewed on site.
